| | Dennis -- perhaps there was a misunderstanding here. If you reread my post #69, I wasn't trying to personally attack you. I was saying that it appeared to me that heuristic reasoning -- using intuition and common sense -- should appear to lead Objectivists in general to deduce that preemptive war was a terrible idea because of the massive expansion of the state that it necessarily entailed. It certainly wasn't my intent to imply that you personally are incapable of using intuition and common sense -- I have complimented you on several posts and sanctioned them, which I certainly wouldn't do for someone lacking these qualities -- and I threw in a "wink" at the end in a (failed) attempt to make it clear that, were we face to face, I would be smiling as I said that and making a jab at Objectivists in general, who seem prone to waging war in rather marginal cases of NIOF, and not trying to convey a personal insult or cause offense.
I apologize for the misunderstanding, and regret I did not take the time to phrase things much more carefully to avoid antagonizing you.
