People who have the History Channel can set their DVRs to record "Cable in the Classroom" which airs weekday mornings at 6-7am. This show is usually a reprise of some former show or series with the commercials removed. You get 45 minutes on some interesting subject like the Founding Fathers, Roman History, the Civil War, the Barbarian invasions of Europe, or other matters of interest. The quality is usually good and at a juhior high school level or above. The last fifteen minutes will often be some sort of newsreel trivia, often lighthearted but also sometimes on interesting shorts from history, especially about the Cold War.

I was prompted to start this thread by a minor humorous annoyance. Today's episode was entitled "Cold Hard Cash. Gold is used to control the global economy."

"Control" Hah! The show was okay, but you can always count on the blurbs to have a communist slant!
