| | The Big Lie
In Nazi Germany, Americans Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, executed 45 years ago today as Soviet spies, would have been executed without trial for their last names.
Michael Newberry quotes their lawyer in 1953 as saying their execution proved the USA was worse than Nazi Germany. In the US they were tried, afforded defense, faced their accusers, testified on their own behalf, were found guilty, and were executed for knowingly and intentionally violating an espionage law - for passing secrets about the construction of the hydrogen bomb to the Soviet Union. Just as with the spy Alger Hiss, the left protested their actual innocence at the time. Yet they and Hiss were indeed guilty. Released soviet files and the testimony of KGB proved their guilt. So the left said that even though they were guilty, our reaction was not justified. In defense of Julius on wikipedia a KGB spy is quoted as saying that Julius didn't understand the material and couldn't help the Russians with developing a bomb himself. As if the importance of a spy has anything to do with whether he understands the information he is passing on. If Julius could have built a bomb, he wouldn't have needed to pass on stolen secret information! Ethel's knowledge of and complicity in her husband's activity is also proven. Yet on nndb.com she is listed as "Executed for being married to Julius Rosenberg." The same website used to list Ayn Rand as a crackpot, not it links to a website that says:
# Author of The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged # Advocated smoking, which demonstrates man's triumph over nature. # Anton LaVey plagiarized portions of Atlas Shrugged for The Satanic Bible. # Have you been suckered into becoming a student of Objectivism?
For a century, it has been the Big Lie, the Big Lie, the Big Lie. Even today those Marxists who haven't become isl@mists (and who must therefore wish death to Jews) still cling to their faith stronger than any religion.
But the Rosenbergs are still dead.
