Telling that whopper was all a part of the Clinton strategy to enhance public identification with her husband.  While self-righteously wagging his finger at the camera, the former president told a blatant lie directly to the American electorate--and look at what it did for him.

Following his impeachment for perjury and obstruction of justice, Bill Clinton left office with a 65% approval rating, the highest end-of-presidency rating of any President who came into office after World War II.
