For anyone who hasn't read it, and is turned off by "classics," The Misanthrope really is a marvelous and fun play. Some of the works of Shakespeare might actually be good too, but who knows? He's written in a foreign language and now, ironically enough, only foreigners (Germans, Spaniards, etc.) enjoy him. Moliere, in turn, is probably disliked in France. But when you translate his 350-year-old French into modern English you get a great play.

That line cited by Michael, incidently, comes from the hero and main character. He's a bit overwrought and comic, but he is a true hero.
