| | First, Yes, Chris & Erica, this is the Serb who assassinated the Heir of the Austrian throne in the name of Serbian expansionism.
As to whether he was the "most evil" it depends on whether one holds that WWI was inevitable, and that it would have happened even without his act. (One can also argue the standard O'ist line that philosophy is primary, which is fine, except without the acts of individuals, philosphies instantiate nothing on their own.) But WWII was certainly NOT inevitable, and did result as a consequence of WWI. While growing up, WWII was always taught as the seminal event of the 20th Century. But WWI was ever so much more a tragedy and a long-term curse, begetting Soviet communism, Nazi Germany, and even the Balkan wars of the 1990's, which many isl*mists (pathetically) cite as a reason to hate the West, which "let" the m*slim Bosnians be slaughtered. Princip's act set off the most evil string of events in human history, and reverberates today even in the demoralization of Europe in the face of m*slim expansionism. One might argue that this Orthodox Christian stooge handed Europe to his people's historic nemesis 100 years after his death.
I highly recommend Hew Strachan's eye-opening book on the war in general (not the more limited books on its breakout, and its finanancing) and the ten-part series based on the book shown on the Military Channel, and also available on DVD. The quality exceeds that of Ken Burns' series on the Civil War.
Perhaps more, when I have time.
