| | Maybe I should have put that under Jokes, but it would have been too cosmic to have been funny.
ZIMBABWE, widely criticized for mismanaging its economy, has been elected as head of the Commission on Sustainable Development, the main UN inter-governmental body on the environment. The post rotates among regions and Africa nominated Mr Nheme as chairman of the commission. Both the US and the EU have imposed targeted sanctions against Zimbabwe for human rights abuses http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21717611-1702,00.html
I had to go back a few days to find this in the archives. The pithy quote fell out of the BBC news reports from May 10 through 12. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/africa/6645715.stm
Though Google as of right now, still shows the quote in the story, the quote is not there:
BBC NEWS | Africa | Zimbabwe defends right to UN role Ambassador Boniface Chidyausiku Zimbabwe has dismissed Western objections to its appointment ... "What has sustainable development to do with human rights? ... news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/africa/6645715.stm - 11k - May 11, 2007 -

Fully replying to that rhetorical question would take a demonstration of about 1084 pages. I am sure that some equally pithy rejoinders might be generated. If you have the stamina to read the ugly details, you can track the paragraphs about the fact that the "developing nations" stood firm in support of Zimbabwe.
America's present choice between freedom and security is ultimately a choice between prosperity and starvation. Those who would deny the existence of innocent non-combatants in order to kill islamo-fascists would take the food off your table and turn America into Zimbabwe. Either A is A or A becomes Z.
