Two things about this comment - one, is why consider aesthetics, the personal application of ethics, to be of greater importance, even tho politics, the application of ethics to aggregates of individuals, is the most developed... and two - this is the fallacy of conventional heroics, as has been mentioned in this forum before - why the extraordinary in bad times, instead of it as a way of life?

Thanks for coining the term: the Fallacy of Conventional Heroics; though I'm sure that Mike didn't explicitly mean to get mileage from that popular notion (as the rest of his quote confirms).
