A mountain of olives?  Sure sounds like heaven to me.

Yeah, but at least it's interesting.  When I was little, I would have given anything to hear some good space-alien stories from our priest at Sunday mass.

If you follow the Hitchens link, he discusses the Mormon belief that Missouri is the Garden of Eden.  (This is most likely due to the fact that Smith lived there for a time.)  I wonder if God had a hand in the Missouri Compromise as well.  Hitchens also discusses Mormon underwear.  It's an obvious evil that certain groups claim land near Jerusalem based on religious claims.  But to hear Missouri classed with Israel should make even the most devout Christian do a doubletake.

Interesting.  There's actually a (serious) site dedicated to Mormon underwear (http://www.mormon-underwear.com/)

I always wonder whether men like Joseph Smith (not to mention Muhammad, Jesus etc) believed their own bullshit, or if they were just skilled maniupulators seeking their own little world of power and influence over others.  'Tis an open question I think...

Haven't looked at that site yet, but does it refer to them as 'golden weaves'? [snort]
