Thanks Manfred, I appreciate the insight of this quote.

A further note is that I (and presumably others) can tell that English is a second-language for you. This will, unfortunately, make it harder for you to write quotes -- especially the longer ones.

Sprechen Sie Deutsch (erstrangig)?

:-)

Ed: Thanks for appreciating my quote.

Evidently you remember your German very well, since your question has been worded without any mistakes. Congratulation!

German is, as you correctly recognized, my "erstrangig" language, followed by English and Spanish (or Spanish and English). I was born in Argentina, but live since 1985 in Austria (under http://rebirthofreason.com/Articles/Schieder/ there's a short description of me and my life). Fortunately, my English (which for down-to-the-bone Englishmen may sometimes sound a bit Misean) is, however, still good enough for Joe Rowlands to have had the kindness of publishing my book "Ayn Rand, I and the Universe" on "Rebirth of Reason" (above link will lead you to it starting with "Ayn Rand and Rational Egoism" and moving from there up to "The Refueling of our Power for Creation", which includes, in chapter 8, a glossary that might interest you).

Besides having supplied already a few of my own quotes to the excellent webpage that is "Rebirth of Reason" - please forward my congratulations to the whole staff ! - I will continue to do so and hope ;-) that I make myself clear enough, even at the price of moving some readers to find some of my wording a bit awkward. But this also happens in Spanish (my wife, of Spanish and Italian parents, often comments that my Spanish is un-Spanish in the sense that my vocabulary incorporates many Spanish words that go beyond what Spanish speaking people commonly use).

And, as always, I follow all that you publish with the greatest attention and interest.

Best regards, Manfred
