She's about to watch a horror film on her computer on the plane. He's concerned that she will get scared and make too much noise. Here's the following dialog:
HELEN Come on, the headphone thing should be a plus. You hate in when I get loud.
SANTOS You're just going to get louder. You're not going to fool me.
HELEN I thought you liked it when I got loud.
SANTOS In this, as in all things, context is king.
Taken out of context, I thought it was an objectivist-like observation.
I've been watching DVD's of the series, most recently the last season, and the parallels between the fictitious presidential race and the current one are interesting, with a young, charismatic Hispanic Democratic candidate (Jimmy Smits) running against an old Senator as the Republican candidate (Alan Alda).
