| Bob Barr wins Libertarian Presidential Nomination Posted by Ted Keer on 5/25, 2:32pm | ||
| Former Republican and new convert to a "state's rights" position on drugs, abortion, and gay marriage, Bob Barr is the pragmatic, not the principled choice of the Libertarian nominating convention. Second-place Mary Ruwart, author of a book about her sister's Jack Kevorkian assisted suicide, declared she would not run as Barr's VP. She lost out after ex-Republican and third-place candidate Wayne Allyn Root threw his support behind Barr, who immediately embraced Root as his potential running mate, subject to Root's VP nomination by the convention. | ||
