| On this, Frank Lloyd Wright's 138th birthday, I find it worthwhile to look at whatever pictures of his works that I can come up with, and to read a little bit about his triumphant struggle against stifling conformism. A shot of real-life inspiration always helps to brighten the day! Those of you who did not have my good fortune to grow up in Oak Park, Illinois, less than a mile from Wright's home and studio (and many more of his finest buildings), should consider making the trip, at least for a brief tour. The residential and commercial architecture throughout the town, by Wright and others, is something to marvel anyone who appreciates elegance in design. | ||
