[Editor's note: New Zealander Chris Lewis made it all the way to the Wimbledon final, against John McEnroe, in 1983. Though McEnroe gave him short shrift, Chris's gutsy semi-final against Kevin Curran still rates as one of the most memorable Wimbledon matches of recent times. It lasted just under four hours. Then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher thought she'd drop by, & stayed, transfixed.
