I came to RoR via the website http://www.importanceofphylosophy.com and one of its authors Jeff Landauer. Since its presentation is so much in parallel with my own, I am joining here for encouragement as well as occasional contribution. My applicable website is http://www.politico-cat.com to which all who visit here are welcome.
ProfessionalI am an independent (unemployed) Software Engineer with extensive experience in control systems. Even though I have experience with C, C++, and machine level programming, my later programming skills include Java (including Android), Ruby, PHP, and scripts generally found on Unix/Linux systems.
Other Interest
Music: I have performed in a number of choirs the great liturgical works of the past, as soloist, tenor, and conductor. I have also coached the low strings and brass of a youth orchestra and taught voice.
Church: I am currently a member of a Presbyterian congregation but often serve in other faiths including Methodist, Episcopal, Lutheran, and Roman Catholic.
