If I Owned A Chain of A Thousand Hospitals by Tyson Russell
- I’d understand that medical care is something that is used infrequently and sporadically throughout life, although more frequently near the end of life. Because of this uncertainty, insurance would be a good funding mechanism. Therefore, my chain would have insurance plans that cater to the 25 million or so people who use my facilities. Even the basic plan would be comprehensive.
- I’d make it a policy that anyone with an insurance plan will not have to “pay up” in a life threatening situation. And those without an insurance plan in a life threatening situation will only pay up to a maximum of $50,000. The $50,000 maximum would be an incentive to purchase an insurance plan. The cost and probability of these sticky situations would be built in to the insurance premiums.
