Strong piece. Good pose, good concept,  great use of color.

Good to see some of your stuff around again.

It's the same thing with Superman. Superman is the american portrayl of Nietzsche's ubermench, which was Ayn Rand's influence for Howard Roark, and John Galt, but superman acts selflessly saving others and is a negation of the idea.

Even though the original concept of Superman had him as a villian, it should be pointed out that Superman's creators were Jewish and deny the influence of Nietzche on their character.

I always liked the concept of Superman. Up until that point all aliens had been portrayed as hostile invaders to my knowledge Superman is one of the first times the idea of the great powerful unknown was applied to a person who fought those who initiated force, not initiated it himself.

And actually neither fit the ubermensch idea. The ubermensch was supposed to be such a supreme being that he was completely beyond good and evil and was meant to rule over men.  Gail Wynand, Lex Luthor, Ted Bundy and the Red Skull fit this idea better.

I'm not sure that Superman is selfless. I mean, the guy is so tough that the only ones he can save are others... And what sort of selfish activity could Superman engage in besides defeating super-villians? That's the only thing that would really challenge him. But, if Superman had a little better education I think he would make an awesome civil engineer and he could do all the work alone! Replacing entire contracting companies with Superman would lead to huge profits.
