I'm way behind in my reading.  All I can say is: Thank you for a beautiful essay.

James,

This beautiful piece appeared as a random past article.  Better than any words I could give you, I'll simply say that it made me cry.  Not bring tears to my eyes, but actually made them fall.  Thank you.

But damnit, I'm at work and someone's gonna' be wondering why I'm drying my eyes in a minute!

Editing to add:  This is the part that finally did it:

But I have known what it feels like to be loved. I know the love I feel for others and theirs for me springs from something wonderful inside of me. I will find a complete love someday.
Again - thank you.

Jason

You know, these poignant family stories are what got me thinking about writing my article for today.  Though mine is certainly of a different tone from the moving ones posted by you, John -- and here by James, and elsewhere by Hong -- I love that we are able to share one another's history to learn what has made us the people we are.

Thank you all for inspiring me to contribute my piece of the puzzle.

James,

You know, I think this random article feature is one of the best things Solo does for its writers. What a hell of an article you wrote!

All great writers have to cut deeply into their souls and bare what they find to the world.

So OK, OK already! Your writing is good enough! Please, no more cutting on wrists. Just keep cutting into the soul - ONLY.    //;-)

But I want to present my homage anyway. That you did this on an Objectivist forum when you did, apparently with some "rational" gay bashers lurking around, speaks tons about your character and dedication to the truth. Even the gay-hetero theme pales before this universalness.

You, Sir, speak to me. You are a wonderful inspiration to me.

Michael
