That's a touching tribute, Linz. I feel a sense of loss, too; for a leftie (albeit a curiously inconsistent one), Rod Donald had a remarkable sense of life. And as you point out, he had buckets of integrity, too. Would that our other socialists shared his vitality and fondness for laughter!

I should add this update on cause of death—according to his co-leader Jeanette Fitzsimons the coroner has said it wasn't a heart attack, but what *did* cause his sudden demise is not yet clear.

Good tribute Linz. I agree he was a frustrating contradiction in many ways. In the last interview I heard him give, to Leighton Smith, I'm sure he said he thought of himself as an anarchist, although that would not seem to have been consistent with many of his beliefs. (However, I came in half way through that interview, so I may have taken a wrong interpretation).
