On my visit to their temple, I was informed by the head monk that the differences were greatly exagerated by american sources.

Rather than articles of belief, it's more a question of inner v outer orientation; Tibetians hum verses when they meditate, while Zen is about silence. or so they say.

Well the Tibetians do seem to be friendly and sociable, while Zenoids appear cold and self-indulgent.

As for education, sorry, mine is about how things work, not what what lots n lots of people believe.

Moreover... 

Since I've made my point that meditation, when not re-defined as simple relaxation, is utter nonsense, my only worthwhile 'education' in this particular would be to accuse the Tibetians of  acting like zennish fools.

You, thankfully, have saved me from this embarrasment on my upcoming re-visit...
