I feel your pain, Luke. I've experienced the same very frustrating thing on Facebook. They seem deaf to all arguments countering their position, and they love to mock anyone who protests. To try to break through to them, I created a Facebook group designed to convey some good ideas in a way that my friends would be open to. I started by calling the group "Democrats for Rational Healthcare Reform," thinking that when the saw "Democrat" in the heading, they wouldn't immediately be antagonistic towards it. Luke, that really sucks. Most of the people on my page are co-workers from recent years, so I'm already aware of the pro-Obama ones, no shock there. What was shocking, though, was that I had the opposite experience with the former high school friends; two old band members turned out to be Libertarians, with one listing ATLAS as his favorite book. THAT was unexpected, as I haven't seen them since 92. before my Atlas conversion!

Here we are, five years later, and the 30 year reunions of my high schools looming in October 2014. I find myself hard pressed to attend either given their far left and far right poles. The false alternatives of Obama and Jesus leave me wanting to spend my time and money on a week in Las Vegas instead.
