| | "Dave" is from Michigan, but not from Detroit. There is a huge push here, largely initiated by local MSM, to "believe in Detroit." Mayor Bing even made this a rallying point in radio ads for the city. "Do you believe in Detroit?" I burst out laughing the first time I heard the ad. How lame!

Like the gospel singers in the Chrysler ad, some (too many) believe a little faith will cure everything in Detroit. And, of course, the first thing they pray for is cash. Not to pay for anything that will actually help anyone in the city, but to pay for more useless "feel good" ads, thus, more evasion.
This campaign confirms, in my mind anyway, that reason is dead and buried in Michigan.
For that, I'm an Adetroitist. Detroit is a terrible religion, and I don't recommend it to anyone. Detroit, right now, is nothing more than an ignorant little televangelist preying on the good intentions of good people. Its a cult, with cultish rituals and rules. "Don't complain! Give us money! Give us time! Just give! Don't think!"
