For anyone who cares, I have a summary of this book at

http://attitudeadjustment.tripod.com/Books/7-Habits.htm

The seven habits and, in my judgment, their Objectivist counterparts are:

1. Be proactive --> Independence in service to Rationality
2. Begin with the end in mind -->Productiveness
3. Put first things first --> Productiveness
4. Think win/win --> Benevolence in service to Productiveness
5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood --> Benevolence in service to Productiveness
6. Synergize --> Productiveness
7. Sharpen the saw --> Pride

I reflect these in my personal values list at

http://attitudeadjustment.tripod.com/Essays/Values.htm

Luther,

I really liked your diagrams on human decision-making and goal pursuit!

Question:
I'm merely being curious (and not looking to "intellectually attack" you for it) when I ask: What other "school of thought" are you employing with your "self-assessment" below? Is it Zen?

If my self-assessment has Zen traits, it is a pure accident.  The closest I have come to reading anything Zen is a high school novel assignment called ZEN AND THE ART OF MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE, and I only read a third of that!  I just did not care much for the novel.

I have read essays where people compare Buddhist "mindfulness" with Objectivist self-awareness.  Some of my language comes from Anthony Robbins, and he draws inspiration from all sorts of role models, with Buddha perhaps being one of many.  He got his start by speed reading 700 books on human potential.
