I discovered this band after seeing Daredevil, they were playing the type of music I always wanted to do but was never quite able to get going (complete with the female vocals).

Their music kind of affects you differently depending on what mood you're in when you approach it. I wrote much of my early comic woek with this cd as a soundtrack and it completely enriched the experience, but then a month or two later when I was unemployed and facing eviction this cd made me want to ram into a telephone pole a few times.

This CD rocks! It's definitely one of the better new hard rock bands out there, and the fact that they have a female singer just makes their sound that much cooler. You have to be in the right mood for their songs to really inspire you, but when you are, wow. It drives you.

Hmm, I liked two or three songs of Evanescence, the rest is not my type of music, really. I have seen them live at Rock am Ring, two years ago and they just didn't fit in a rock'n roll type. You could easily see that they are beginners and as a matter of fact, their sound wasn't all that good. But perhaps it was due to Metallica playing later on, who truly rocked the stage...

I don't care much for the Christian bent to some of the lyrics, but Evanescence does have some strong songs and an impressive vocalist.
