You asked: But wouldn't our application of them [moral principles] change with the discoveries of science? Oh yes, of course. Although it is not so much science but its application as technology that would require adjustments, because man really does create things that never existed before, and how moral principles would apply to their use would have to be determined. In some cases, even specific actions which were formerly immoral, would no longer be. Anesthesia is certainly an example of something that made many things that were at least morally questionable procedures both safe and perfectly moral. Regi
