It can't actually should be a long campaign that will involve war, not-war, and everything in-between, which means that yes the old convention has to be thrown out and done over again for the new reality. The good news is that this really is not a bad thing - compared to what the 20th century was like, the 21st will be a hell of a lot better. I think we could realistically see the end of mass state on state wars and the end of the remaining barbarism in the world - and it will be primarily done by making globalism truly global. And globalism = capitalism. It will be a win-win for everyone, but people in the civilized world have to recognize that the barbarians are out there, and that they will kill to keep us from winning.
