I received this e-mail from someone who kept wanting to rant about it on my hydrino list on Yahoo! Groups and left in a huff when I rejected his posts:

Tectonics is pure religion that stems from the (evolution vs Creation) debates.

It started c1925 when John Thomas Scopes was put on trial in a (evolution vs biblical origins) dispute that journalists dubbed the monkey trial. Later state laws (called the monkey laws) were instituted to prohibit teaching that man had evolved from a lower order.

Some follow-on trials (for lack of scientific proof) went against the evolutionists. So they resurrected Alfred Wegener's defunct continental drift theory (from c1912). The plan was to create a teachable geological concept with long term elements to support Darwin's "Origin of the Species," so that the mere mention of evolution (in other circumstances) would be accepted defacto.

Scientific principles were tossed aside, geological clocks were set back 300 million years, and tectonics (in a secret pact) was contrived in two steps as the sister to evolution:

-- Tectonics served as the (long term geological concept) teachable in the schools.

-- Evolution was the (long term Biological concept) that evolutionists were eager to protect.

The final step was to introduce tectonics into the schools. This was accomplished c1960's following a National Science Foundation funded program titled, "Biological Sciences Curriculum Study."

Not nice but true.

I decided to share his comments here in case anyone would like to address them and perhaps lure him into a discussion on this forum.

Luke,

Why would anyone want to lure him into discussion here, or anywhere? It would seem he is firmly fixated upon his 'facts', and has seen through to the 'conspiracy' or 'secret pact' by responsible scientists. How could anyone discuss these issues with him?

Shooting fish in a barrel can be fun on occasion.

Just kidding.

I like to give strangers the benefit of the doubt and given that the Dissent Forum exists to hone arguing skills, this seemed like a good exercise.

Utterly absurd.  Plate tectonics is exceptionally well proven - I studied Geology, I looked at the data.  Nor does it prove or disprove anything about evolution.

Putting aside his castigation of plate tectonics, what's his evidence for the conspiracy theory that continental drift theory was revived to bolster evolution?

Luke,

I do admit that I appreciate having been given the benefit of a doubt when I started on these boards.

You are welcome, Jay.

Nor would I expect someone with your avatar to enjoy shooting fish in a barrel.

My God Man! The Evolutionist Conspiracy is even more deeply entrenched than I feared! Now they claim that the very soil beneath our feet evolved from earlier land masses!
