I don't know who Robert Tracinski is, but he seems to be a Randroid, and he draws a striking parallel between the events in Venezuela and Atlas Shrugged:

Tracinski is certainly a Randroid. One wonders whether he's an Objectivist. It intrigues me what Tracinski is doing on a website that seems to be based on ethnic-religious collectivism. What next? Objectivists on websites for Anglo-Saxon Christians?

It may be worth noting (if you care to have facts injected into the middle of your moral speculations) that Tracinski is a syndicated columnist (via Creator's Syndicate) and consequently doesn't have control over who chooses to purchase and run his columns from the syndicate.

Given the ARI's uncritical cheerleading for every action of the Israeli state, it does not surprise me that Tracinski has sold his writings to a company that provides the ethno-religious-tribalist Jewish World Review with content.

Indeed, it is interesting, given the ARI's usual fetish for withholding sanction from those whom they consider to be ideologically impure, that they do not apply the same standards when supplying Creator's Syndicate (and thus sites such as JWR) with articles. One wonders whether Tracinski would supply articles to Creator's Syndicate if they were supplying SOLO or TOC with articles. I expect Tracinski would say that we are "enemies of Objectivism", but that somehow Jewish World Review isn't.

I find it bizarre that you are condemning Tracinski for not doing precisely the same thing you are condemning ARI for doing (refusing to deal with people or organizations that don't meet some putative standard of ideological purity).

As to the question of whether Tracinski would continue to supply articles to Creator's Syndicate if the syndicate sold articles to TOC, the answer may be yes. TOC links to at least one Creator's Syndicate article by Michelle Malkin right now. (It's an external link, though, so may not constitute a sale. Why not purchase some articles from Creator's and give Tracinski a decision to make? Make it doubly hard -- buy some of his!)

Kyle,

It's not bizarre - the ARI condemns advocates of reason and individualism as "enemies of Objectivism" but not (in this case) advocates of mysticism and tribalism. That's bizarre.

Why not buy some of his stuff and see what he does, you ask? I am not responsible for SOLO HQ and so can't do that. It would be a very interesting exercise, though.
