This is a brief message about a very serious subject.

Left-wing prime minister Tony Blair is planning to join the new proposed EU superstate without a national vote. What is the EU superstate? It is a unification of the countries of europe governed by an unelected administration dwelling in Brussels. The constitution of the EU superstate has recently been revealed to allow abitrary economic and law reform without consultation to the countries of the EU. The fact that Blair was planning to join this superstate without a word to the British public caused a courageous anonymous tipster to inform national media.

The EU Administration's powers and plans are shocking similar to that of the government's in Atlas Shrugged, in every aspect. They propose the same objectives, and the same means of accomplishing thier goals, and spout the same nonsense of 'unity' and 'public interest'. They all seem to ignore the fact that all of the countries that are currently members of the EU spuperstate have declining economies, rising unemployment, and a higher cost of living.

I UNFORTUNATELY LIVE IN THE U.K.

Ideally I would like a plane to drop copies of The Road to Serfdom by F. A. Hayek and Atlas Shrugged over The U.K. Instead I will have to live in anxious anticipation of Blair's decision.

Rand was smart. Scary smart.

This anti EU constitution article expresses my view on the subject, brilliantly. Please read the following.

http://www.independence.org.uk/html/the_eu_convention.html

I plead for the Free Radical, Sciabarra, TOC, ARI to write about these monstrous events, and get it some International coverage.

I've just read through the independence.org.uk article you posted, Marcus, as well as gone to the official EU online site and scanned through what they have done, are doing, and will do to Europe as a whole.

All I can say to you is: Run.
All I could ever possibly say to the rest of Europe is: "Brother, you asked for it."
But to others, I say we should take notice of this great looming disaster, or it's going to fall on all our heads. Even America.

Just reading through some of the policies of the EU on their own website, I see similarities emerging: Between the EU and the world of "Atlas Shrugged".

A brief scenario:
Let's say a producer in the UK, a corporation, discovers a better form of some random product (any product, it doesn't matter what) and seeks to market it internationally, thereby increasing the profit of that company and the UK as a whole.
Now, Turkey, providing it has been accepted into the EU, can market a similar product, at lower expense, but with far less quality inherent in the productive ability of the UK. Internationally, the UK product will be accepted for the quality it possesses. Consumers will generally rely on the quality of a product even if the cost is slightly higher, simply because reliability will result in more satisfaction than affordability every time.

Turkey, being a member (not at the moment, but you get the point) has the right to petition the European Economic and Social Committee (which actually exists) because its profits, work force and economic stability will be affected by this new UK product. The Committee will have the power, legally, to halt production of that product, given the amount of people in Turkey that may lose their jobs because the UK product has put them out of business with its quality. And instead of seeking a better way to produce, or a better product, they go to the Committee--a Big Brother with a Big Stick.

This means: A body of citizens not related to the UK, having nothing to do with legislative or voting body, can affect EXTREME change within the UK. Much like a foriegn army invading and enforcing its will.

I doubt such a thing has occurred to date (if it has, tell me...I will physically shudder). However, I see this being the end result of centralization of European economic power. The sovereignty of any given nation within the EU is sacrificed, for economic and social whims of a body far removed from that nation. In the effort to create a union with economic and political force that can compete with the United States, the EU will become another Soviet Russia. The misguided social and economic reform will lead to economic collapse, which will lead to military forces (that the EU already possesses--Eurocorps) scooping up what land is available (even if already occupied). The EU, if viewed not as it currently is, but as it will become, will be the most terrifying force since Soviet Russia.

Sadly, the UK will fall. If no public outcry has been raised to date, then one isn't forthcoming. The platitudes and hazy slogans of the EU have decieved most of Western Europe already. If the British people hope to maintain their sovereignty, a MASSIVE REVERSAL in philosophical and economic ideals is needed. I don't see this happening.

I hope others will post on this forum, with similar scenarios, more frightening than mine, if only to show others the full scope of the EU disaster.

Thanks for posting Jeremy. I ask for a favour would you please post your example of what would happen under the EU constitution to this address, with your name and adress attached, it is a national newspaper; letters@dailymail.com

I'm planning to send a few letters to various news papers here's one I'm about to send.

(by the way I enjoyed discovering that I'm not the only one who believes that the reason behind the EU plan is to compete with America.)

************

Why do they want a government unified europe?

I've been asking myself that question ever since we discovered the EU's 'tidying up exercise' (the infamous remark made by Blair when asked about the constitution). Under the influence of George Orwell 's 1984 and Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, I believe that I've found the answer; America.

The superiority of America's economy is concurrent with it's military supremecy, and it frequently exerts a pugnacious influence on world affairs. The vast number of Europe's Left are openly opposed to America's dominance, and wish to end it.

The why explains the how. They wish to compete with America's economy; under the EU they will have various economies capital at their disposal.
They wish to compete with America's military; under the EU they will have control of various countries military administrations, unified into a superpower.

Diverting the public's attention away from the amount of implications of the constitution we hear buzz word, reminiscent to the Newspeak of 1984. 'Public interest' and 'unity' are by far the most common. Blair would have us believe that being under the control of an unaccountable, unelected administration, able to implement economic and law reform at their own arbitrary discretion, is in the 'public interest'. Blair would also have us believe that a voluntary relationship with our neighbouring countries, without legal obligation to agree isn't unified enough. Only being legally coerced into cooperation, forced to implement government regulations, and reducing our government's reponsiblity to that of middlemen, is true 'unity'.

The Eurasia of 1984 is in the process of being formed, why is the media silent?

******************

A messsage to all objectivists it is in your self-interest to cause an uproar. If the Eu constitution is a threat to peace, expect military paranoia to follow, a new cold war. Whilst the economies of europe are destroyed in the process.
Write letters to your own countries newspapers, please get this constitution some negative coverage.

Our media is silent, and living in the inner city most people I encounter are ignorant at best, and stupid at worst.

Although something good has come out of this situation. I've recognized the depth's of my country's philosophical poverty, and the influence of left-wing intelligensia. I've made it my life's ambition to set up a SOLO style organization in the U.K. if somehow we do not join the EU superstate. If we do join the superstate I've managed to see that a number of things can happen;
1) We join the EU but keep our currency; there will then be a greater chance for a future government to get us out of the EU, probably with america's help.
2) Tony Blair is charged as a War criminal and we nolonger have to worry about the EU; he is currently under investigation for forging documents about evidence for WMD. A funny and tragic sidepoint is that one of the documents was an old university students politics essays (seriously).
3) We join the EU; I leave for America if I judge that there is no chance of leaving the EU, and I see the world of occuring Atlas Shrugged in my personal life.

I'm currently watching a national political Q&A show and 45 mins of the hour show have gone by and not one person has asked about the EU constitution. They are currently discussing the appointment of homosexual bishops in the church of england.

I went ahead and did what you asked Marcus. Hope it makes someone examine the so-called progress of the EU, and eventually expose it for the rotten core of lies it is.

Marcus,
I've been living in the UK for about six months, and I am soon heading back home to the us. You're right: I am amazed that there is isn't a bigger outcry about the "constitution" of the EU. It's certainly not Philidelphia! I think the issues brought up on this discussion are quite interesting, too. If were staying, and part of me wishes I was, I would help you set up your SOLO-esque organisation. Best of luck.
