| | Hi Soloists,
The Foundation for the Advancement of Art’s Conference, INNOVATION, SUBSTANCE, VISION: THE FUTURE OF ART, is just over a month away, October 6th, 2003.
It is crunch time.
If you would like to help make the conference a success there are a few things that would be significant help:
1. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO GIVE THE FOUNDATION IS YOUR MORAL SUPPORT:
Just a supportive comment from you will go a long way towards giving fuel to all the artists, scholars, volunteers, and contributors.
2. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE THERE PLEASE MAKE YOUR ARRANGEMENTS, THE SOONER THE BETTER.
The Pierre Hotel has giving the Conference attendees great room rates, at least for New York City! But you must book before September 6th. BTW, perhaps committing the Conference at the Pierre not too long after 9/11 helped a great deal towards making this esteemed venue affordable. www.fourseasons.com/pierre/index.html Tel: 212 838 8000
We also have limited places. The planned audience is not large, 50-65 people, and several of those will be reserved for people in the art world. The Conference is $125 or $175 for the Conference and Reception. www.artadvancement.org/conference.htm
3. YOUR TAX DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION IS APPRECIATED.
The Foundation for the Advancement of Art is a 501(c)(3) educational organization based in the United States.
To make a contribution simply go here, www.artadvancement.org/contribution.htm or to www.artadvancement.org and following the Contribution links. The current budget is available upon request. The great news is that we are getting all the things we want and we are under budget. The only catch is that we still need to raise a few thousand dollars so the Conference can succeed without a hitch.
The Foundation has been getting significant help in time, effort, and expertise from Brett Holverstott, Ashley Frazier, Kristin Currier, Lisa Thorne, Cynthia Ruhl, Ron Richards, and Bonnie Downey. It will be also getting future help at the Conference from Nadia Espinoza, Marc McClure, and Anna Moody. These people have gladly given their all to make the project a go.
Some of you will be interested to know that I am not receiving any compensation for the hundreds of hours I donated to this project.
But, a great benefit for me, other artists, all of you art enthusiasts, and potential audience will be the celebration of the change of aesthetic direction that will undoubtedly occur. Hopefully sooner than later.
4. BLOGGER HELP:
The blogging world is influential, sharp, and fun and it would be fantastic if you would forward any of the Foundation’s Press Releases to your favorite blogger(s). www.artadvancement.org/press.htm
Thank you very much for any support you can offer,
Michael Newberry
