Why does popular culture revel in treating Hitler as a monster because he is responsible for 34 million deaths, but not Stalin and Mao, who together killed 60 million people through war and starvation ?

No Leftist bias in the media, eh ?

The novelist Martin Amis highlights this inconsistency in his recent book about Stalin, 'Koba the Dread'.

To quote from the blurb on the back cover, the book '...addresses itself to the central lacuna of twentieth-century thought: the indulgence of communism by Western intellectuals'. Well worth a read for anyone wanting to get a better idea of the reality of the Stalinist regime.
