| | Hi,
I am the SOLO Club Coordinator and also run SOLO Florida. You can find a link to SOLO Florida from the main SOLO site.
If you want to start a SOLO Club in your geographic area, your first task will be to determine how widely to cast the net. Do you want to call your group SOLO Vancouver, SOLO BC or something else? To get an idea for population densities of Objectivists, visit http://aynrand.meetup.com and browse membership rosters for Vancouver and other local cities.
Once you settle on a name, SOLO Executive Director Joseph Rowlands can create a root directory for you. From there, you can create the content and even new pages. To attract members, you can use relevant topics at http://www.meetup.com such as Ayn Rand, Atheists, etc. and do some cross-linking with them. I also recommend contacting local freethought groups as well as groups sympathetic to our laissez-faire politics. The Ayn Rand Institute at http://www.aynrand.org has an updated list of campus clubs and other information they will soon publish on their revised site that can help. Finally, you can list your group at http://www.objectivistcenter.org if you want. This last organization has some good articles on running an Objectivist Club and also can send a Club Flyer to their mailing list in your area for a nominal fee.
We have some brochures in PDF format available for download at the bottom of the main SOLO Florida page. I can massage the Florida brochure to suit your needs if you want.
Let me know what I can do to help!
Luke Setzer
