Has anyone ever heard the Metallica song the Unforgiven?  It is one of my all time favorite songs, and I was reading that it was suppossed to have been writen in influence to Ayn Rand's Anthem.  I heard that song before Ayn Rand and it expressed many of my beliefs, and I want to know if this is true or just coincidence and what everyone else believs.

Not sure on Metallica and Rand, that would certainly surprise me, though.  The Rush album 2112 is heavilly inspired by Anthem and Randian ideas in general, is that maybe what you're thinking of?

No, I'm 100% sure that it is Metallicas song the Unforgiven, it is after all, one of my all time favorites.  It depicts the life of a man who has been forced to work his entire life for others, allways trying to please and his thoughts and self never showing through any of his work.  He then decides that he is fed up and will not let them step on him anymore and in the process dubs the rulers the "Unforgiven".  It is a great song and I recommend it to everyone here.
Also, I am not so sure why something like this would suprise you, Metallica are known for supporting libretatian/objectivist beliefs in their lyrics, they just happen to usually support the more "liberal" or democratic candidates such as Bill Clinton (as do I, however I believe in the fundemental values of objectivism).  They have been quiet about politics recently though.
