If you want an actress (ie., one who can act) that looks like Dagny and knows martial arts and has a brain ... then you're left with the obvious choice of Diana Rigg in her Emma Peel prime. In which case, I would of course be taking the part of the security guard.:-)
Other than that, I've always fancied playing either Ellis Wyatt, or the driver of the first train along the John Galt Line - what a blast! :-)
I'm reminded too that when asked which character in AS he would like to play, Andrew Bernstein answered "Dagny, because she gets to sleep with all the heroes." Perhaps that thought could motivate a few of the SOLO men in their choice of role.
As for my ideal John Galt, of current actors I would choose Denzel Washington; of past actors, Sidney Poitier. Both are adept at playing characters of quietly unmistakeable integrity, and both enjoy displaying the intelligence of their character - essential in a story about the men of the mind.
