If an annoying song keeps playing in your head and you can't make it stop, does that mean you don't a volitional consciousness?

Actually you can stop it... you listen to some other tune, but you might have to learn which songs will chase out a melody that is stuck there.

The fact that you can try or not try to make a change in what tune is playing is the proof of volitional consciousness. The fact that you might not succeed is meaningless. There are lots of states of consciousness that I'd like to attain, but can't. Volition is about focus not a magical transformation to anything you can imagine.
