I'd had this punchline in my head for the last few days and I was getting odd looks from those around me as I'd recall it and smile wildly to myself. But maddeningly I couldn't recall the full joke until I pulled out my Hal Roach album and put it on again. After I'd cleaned myself up, I reflected once again what a comic genius the man is. His superb comic delivery and sparking Irish wit leave me doubled over hours, even days later, and his sharp but gentle jokes are often 'sleepers' like this one.
The man is a comic genius for sure, a classic - worth a whole Liffey-full of Guinness. Well, almost. :-)
