Uh oh, you pushed my button, and out comes:
The Fuzzy Wuzzy Chronicles
(To be read out loud)

The Bear

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear,
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair,
Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he!

The Buzzard

Buzzy Wuzzy was a bird,
But his buzz was seldom heard,
Buzzy Wuzzy wasn't buzzy, was he!

The Cousin

Cozzy Wuzzy was a "coz"
But no relationship he was,
Cozzy Wuzzy wasn't cozzy, was he!

The Traffic Stop

'Cuz he was, he wasn't stopped,
Fuzz he was, he was a cop,
'Cuz he was, he wasn't, fuzz he was, see?

The various alternative confusing pronunciations and spellings of the words in the original post can all be explained with a bit of knowledge of the history of English. One phenomenon that is exemplified is the variation in latinate words between initial stress on nouns and second-syllable stress in verbs

To proDUCE
to conDUCT
to deSERT

but

the PROduce
the CONduct
the DEsert

The Neogrammarians discovered that there is no exception in language without a rule. That is, an apparent breaking of a rule is caused by the application of another perhaps less obvious rule. But there is always a rule, just as in metaphysics there is always an entity.

There are different explanations for other correspondences. I suggest reading Anthony Burgess' (of A Clockwork Orange) Mouthful of Air as an introduction.
