| | Hey Marnee, thanks for your review here. I have the DVD, and also a CD of the music from the film. The film has long been an inspiration to dancers and cinematographers alike.
I also had the opportunity to see the Broadway production of The Red Shoes, which had its own interesting dance sequence (quite good, but nowhere near the film version). It was a short-lived production, but it brought back a lot of interest in the film version.
Recently, AFI noted the top 100 songs in film; NY Daily News critic David Bianculli suggested that if the time ever came for the American Film Institute to note the top 100 dance sequences in film, The Red Shoes would surely rank high on that list.
