Hear, hear.

Martha Stewart was (still is, actually) the embodiment of competency and composure, and that was people admired about her.

These rat-bastard, sons of bitches who are crucifying her because she didn't fall in the politically-correct line, and dance like just another broken-spirited circus bear for their conceited amusement should all be accounted for, and completely boycotted

This is my Feb. 27th  ASAP article on The Autonomist:

 2/27/04 SEC: Free Martha index

She's not free yet, but, according to this story, Judge tosses most serious charge against Martha Stewart. The securities fraud count had carried a maximum prison term of, ten years. But she's still at risk, because each of the remaining four counts against Stewart carries a maximum of five years.

Martha is a big liberal, and there might be a sense of justice in the fact big government policies are now coming back to threaten her, but revenge is not my cup of tea. The threat the SEC is to all decent people and honest business men is a real threat, Martha never was.

In fact, the charges against Martha are a bit of a mystery according to Jacob Sullum. It amounts to be charged for denying committing a crime you did not commit.

This trial is not about insider trading, "but the right to declare one's innocence, even when the government later agrees." Christopher Westley says. The real cause of the financial damage done to MSL shareholders were the irresponsible charges of the Justice Department.

If you want to know the real cause of all these government intrusions in business and so-called "insider trading" scandals, see Ilana Mercer's The SEC's information socialism and The SEC's Information Socialism-Part 2

=====================================================

Here are some additional links that tell the real story, a very sad story about the degradation of American justice.

"In defense of Martha Stewart" by Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld.

"Free Martha Stewart" by Joseph Farah.

"Martha vs. the mob" by Ilana Mercer.

I agree entirely that Martha Stewart is getting burned at the stake by a misguided and jealous mob, but she's not helping her situation saying things like this:

"I didn't go and cheat the little people. I just didn't do that. We're all little people." (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/2020/Business/Martha_Stewart_2020_040716-1.html)

She almost gets it right -- she's the fall guy for all individuals protecting their own assets and trying to flourish.  Still, you don't go throwing around the phrase "the little people" when you're being persecuted for being one of the big people, unless of course, you've truly lost touch with the ideals that make you right.

Martha is a poster child for those who fall victim to the anti-wealth, anti-success attitudes pervasive in our culture, but the jury is still out on whether she deserves some sort of heroic status.
