| | Nonsense. Islam is in the process of slowly dieing away as an ideological force. The recent events, while very dramatic are a last gasp before the surrender of the Islamic world to capitalism as long as the west keeps itself strong. Western culture, as an influence (at the moment at least) is far too strong and offers far too much hope and promise. It is sweepings across the far east and it will also slowly overtake the Islamic world. So while we must fight against today's Islamic fundamentalist threat in every justifyable way the greater enemy is still the leftists. The reason why such nonsense is allowed to go on in Europe is not because of any new strength on the part of its muslim population but because of the corrosive effects of democratic socialism. France and Germany are weaklings, who in the last decade have shrivled their own economies with all sorts of social welfare programs and labor regulations. They have bought into the university brand of progressive socialism and the populations of these countries are firmly indoctrinated with these ideas. Britain remains economically strong for now but their press and their politicians, for the most part preach these same ideas. It is an ideology of guilt and surrender to mediocrity. They have handed these ideas to much of the developing world and the continued lack of development in Africa and South America is a result of these influences. Appologetic, altruist, socialist and ultimately nihlist leftism, if not brought under control will have the effect of leaving civilization vulnerable to just about any outside threat because its final goal is surrender to any mediocrity it can find -- including the wacko Muslim fundamentalists.
