How unspeakably revolting! That recently-departed, journalistically-disgraced Saddamite Dan Rather would no doubt approve of his erstwhile employer's lickspittle brown-nosing of tyranny. Ugh!

What's really sad is to see a living example of the Comprachicos, and watch as a child mutates.

About 10 years ago I stopped watching television. Such a huge share of what it serves up is absolutely loathsome crap that will do nothing but make the blood boil. I try to be Optimistic so I don't take what the media foists on us as a true representation of our culture; rather I dismiss most of it as a human waste product.

I rarely watch CBS News and when I heard about interview with Elian I decided not to change my policy.  The reports are as sickening as I expected and feared.  The Ayn Rand Institute opposed the return of Elian to Cuba  predicting he would be exploited in this manner and they have turned out to be absolutely right.

when he was seized at gunpoint by a federal SWAT team, he "felt joy that I could get out of that house."
Oh, yes, the joy on his face is apparent (sarcasm intended.) Who will be next?

Michael K,

Thanks for posting this reminder that genuine evil of communism still exists after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The funny thing about that pic is that custody cases in America don't get that kind of support. My brother's father was in jail for years, and when he got out, my Mom reluctantly let him see his son. His father did not return him, and they had to duke it out in court for custody, possesion being 9/10ths of the law and such crap. And the jerkoff got custody.
I would have shoved a gun up his ass if I had that authority.

I gather that in the 'interview' there was NO reference to the famous being-returned-to-his-homeland photo?
