Now, if she were Texan and Republican, she'd get raked over the coals for such alarmism. I'm of the current mindset that she won't get the heavy criticism that Joe Biden got -- even though they're both from the same party, saying really, really stupid things. Part of that difference in criticism (between [Pelosi] and Biden) will stem from Biden's statements being more important for the future of the Democrats. I am led to believe, though, that part of the difference in criticism will stem from her being a female.
It's what radio personality, Chris Baker, calls "the soft bigotry of low expectations" (not that there's anything right with that).
