The good news, somebody at NR Online pointed out, is that tax increases won't be politically possible for at least a few years.

From now on keep an eye on Hilda Solis.

All I can say is. What a complete f**king asshole you are Daschle. Its one thing to be so deluded that you think everyone should pay for your pet programs. Its quite another to think everyone but you should pay for them.

I emailed Obama to complain about his tax-dodging appointees.  A few hours later, Daschle was out.  Gave me a false feeling of efficacy.  ;-)

Hey, enjoy the feeling while you can.

(If I give you a message for him, would you pass it on? :-)

Since I clearly "have the President's ear," I'll see what I can do.  Not sure about getting him to resign, though.  Do you really want Biden as President?

Steve, I could pass on your message to the President, but I'm just worried that your message might be of the type that prompts a visit from the Secret Service! ;-)

Seriously, I think the one message that fits all situations is, "Mr. President, yes you can.  But you can't escape the unintended consequences."  Maybe I'll make that my email signature line.

So what I'd like to know is, if Obama admits to making a "mistake" for choosing Daschle, and whenever his predecessor screwed up people called him "incompetent" and "stupid", do I now get to call Obama incompetent and stupid? Or would that just make me a racist?

Well, I wouldn't go straight to incompetent and stupid. Between posting a CIA leader with no experience, cutting defense spending by 10%, and financing palestinian terror you'd better start conserving adjectives to apply. Although, now that I think of it, green is in now, so you could always reuse and recycle them.

Ryan I get the feeling even if Obama continues to screw up even more so than his predecessor, he won't get the scorn and ridicule Bush got because 1) Obama doesn't speak like a Texan 2) He's not a Republican. Remember, according to the media and hollywood jackasses, if you're a Texan and a Republican, you are evil incarnate.

John A., I will take it further. The media and Hollywood jackasses will start making excuses for Obama and say Bush and Republicans screwed up so bad it would take a superhuman to fix it.

Another reason Obama won't get as much criticism is because he's black, because there's a lot of "white guilt" among progressives and those who are afraid of the mob of progressives.

On a related note, [Nancy Pelosi] -- 2nd in line for president of this country -- said that half a billion Americans will lose their jobs if we don't pass the Obama stimulus plan.

Now, that's a lot of Americans, right there.

:-)

Now, if she were Texan and Republican, she'd get raked over the coals for such alarmism. I'm of the current mindset that she won't get the heavy criticism that Joe Biden got -- even though they're both from the same party, saying really, really stupid things. Part of that difference in criticism (between [Pelosi] and Biden) will stem from Biden's statements being more important for the future of the Democrats. I am led to believe, though, that part of the difference in criticism will stem from her being a female.

It's what radio personality, Chris Baker, calls "the soft bigotry of low expectations" (not that there's anything right with that).
