What a load of shit. Thought crimes? It sounds a lot like this guy is getting tried for "Driving while smart".

Wait a minute, if something becomes illegal because I think it might be, does that mean something becomse legal now because I think it is? Awesome.

lol, Ryan.

You can blame the so called "war on drugs" for the thought crimes.  If you believe a bag of oregano is weed, and sell it as weed, you get busted for selling....weed!

I often sell oregano as oregano.  To old women.  And they bake me cookies.  And give generous tips.

So by this logic, if I make a right turn on a red light, and I think the light is a "no turn on red", and it turns out that it was a legal turn after all, then I've broken the law by virtue of not knowing that I wasn't breaking the law.

Wow.

I have a headache.  Gotta lie down.

The socialist, fascist, Mormon Nazi moron prosecutor (persecutor?) in this case, J. Damm, has subpoenaed the Las Vegas Review-Journal to produce the names, identities and even credit card numbers of 175 readers of the paper who made on line comments about the case. The paper is fighting the subpoena:

The story drew nearly 175 online comments by Monday night, most in support of Kahre and critical of the government and jurors and attorneys in the case.

One commentator said: "The sad thing is there are 12 dummies on the jury who will convict him. They should be hung along with the feds."

Another called Damm a "socialist, fascist Mormon" and a "Nazi moron."

The comments are written under pseudonyms. Along with the real names of people who posted comments, the subpoena asks the newspaper for the writers' gender, birth date, physical address, telephone number, Internet service provider, IP address and credit card numbers.

The Dems are feeling mighty powerful these days, ain't they?

That is one of the scariest damn things I've read in a very long time, Ted.

I wonder how bewildered ass clown Damm will be when his office gets more hate mail than he ever dreamed could be possible.

I'll be checking in a little bit whether or not the publication has an on-line edition that accepts comments.

Hate mail works -

This was published today.

A few pictures of Damm can be found in Google images:

Comment on a CBS site about this story:

Prosecutors told the judge that, "some comments hinted at acts of violence." This is extremely vague, and certainly not worthy of a federal subpoena. Citizens' First Amendment rights supercede a fishing expedition by prosecutors. No doubt, there is more to this case than is being currently told. Mr. Mitchell of the Las Vegas-Review Journal earns my vote of respect, if he continues to deny access; access is not justified.

The fact that Damm is trying to silence anyone is evidence enough of his fascist leanings.

The Journal is caving to the prosecutor's modified filing regarding "jury protection."
