Chris Edwards did an excellent job - there must have been many people at PBS that were cringing. The liberal position was trotted out in such a predictable fashion "you want to cut education to little children, stop cancer research, end our border security..."

Rand was so right that this has to be fought on the ethical level! These people need to be told they don't have any right to steal other peoples money to fund their projects.

That progressive saw all as-of-yet untaxed money as belonging to the government - such that any tax deduction, or any failure to raise taxes was to be seen as an addition to the deficit and resulting in unemployment and loss of valuable services like cancer research. In effect saying, "Tax the rich more or you are the cause of future cancer!" They are long past where they care about logic - they are willing to defend their naked power grab no matter how horrific the destruction to our economy and to do it with blatant lies, bald irrationality and no shame.

As I've said in a previous article, these terrible ideas MUST be defeated before hitting government level.

Government will always implement the ideas when the people complain that they do so; it is their nature to do so; even Thomas Jefferson said the same. It's also HUMAN nature.

You don't want these ideas put into practice, defeat them before they get to such a level.

See, the problem we've had up until now is no one has taken them seriously enough to present the problems with the ideas any further than some run-of-the-mill comedians making jokes about them on stage.

Either defeat the ideas, or pay the price; it's that simple.

And when you have someone presenting the ideas so others can understand it--and often times coming on quite strong about it too--you'll literally see the side in support of such terrible ideas all but collapsing into the fetal position sucking their thumbs.

A sight to behold, really :)

I'm guessing most people didn't care what the economist said, they just heard the socialist say that he was going to take government benefits away and tax the rich less, and your socialist majority in the US was like "I'm going to vote for Obama again, I don't want to do anything and get more federal government checks!"
