Thought is volitional and is available to us at all times, even when being forced - but I can only see action as being stopped by force, not thought. 

Is it true that force stops thought, how?

Force doesn't stop necessarily stop thought, but it denies free choice, and thus the exercise of reason. By preventing you from living independently, force also prevents you from living rationally.

I agree.  Another side I see is that to think along the lines of independence creates a contradiction, and thus a dead end in thought.
