To define what I mean: When you are asked to do something and you do not want to do it and the other person “begs” and the reasons given are reasons why “they” want it.

This can happen often in relationships, or maybe only for certain people in relationships.

Can anyone explain the morality of the begger in the case above?

Panhandlers should be ground-up and put on public schools' lunch menus.  If they haven't already, that is.

What are you talking about and what does that have to do with my topic?

William: "Can anyone explain the morality of the beggar in the case above?"

I don't think there is any morality in the example you give. Unless -- and I'm stretching -- the person asking the favor thinks you do not understand how important it is to him, and that if you did, you'd want to grant the favor.

LOL!!  I'm talking about grinding up panhandlers into beef/human patties, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your topic.

by most accounts, human meat tastes more like pork than beef.

At least it doesn't "taste like chicken."  ;)  Go ahead, Bisno, roll your eyes.

That's why you marinate, marinate, marinate, Robert!

Right, Jennifer?

(p.s. Sorry for semi-hijacking.  I know the topic was presented in earnest so I'll sheddup now!)

I agree with Barbara that an added "Pleeease?" can inform the other person that something is important to you and that you really want it, but I think any more that that would be trying to convince someone to sacrifice themselves for you and would not be in accord with self-reliance, i.e. immoral.

William, hello. The morality is "to each according to need" or in close relationships "if you loved me you would..." It does happen often in relationships.
