I've noticed some people bring up the fact that there is an Objectivist concept of reason and logic. I'm familiar with Ayn Rand's definition of reason as the faculty which integrates man's perceptions or perceptual units into concepts. My question for this, is: Does this definition conflict with the "standard" definition of reason as found in dictionary.com or merriam-webster.com, or most dictionaries for that matter? OR.. is it simply a more in-depth, elaborated, definition of reason? I surmise that definitions from dictionaries are supposed to be short, succinct and bottom-line-ish, so perhaps Ayn Rand's definition of reason is the more expanded version?
As for logic, is there any set definition or description of what the Objectivist concept for logic is, as far as books, sources, or the like, that I can read?
