Mario Lanza  was very proud of his heritage.
Many  Italians did not give him the credits he deserved!
Maybe it is very true that  "No one will ever be  a prophet among  his own people"

Bravo, Ciro! This is Mario expressing those things that cannot be taught.

By the way, a Lanza disc will be winging its way to you tomorrow!!

My dad was a huge fan of Mario Lanza, so I grew up listening to him.  I still find myself humming "Deep in My Heart" and "Serenade" from time to time (from Romberg's The Student Prince).

My dad also had a thing for Johnny Cash, and to this day I can't reconcile the two.  One minute I'll be singing, "I'm falling in love with someone" and the next I'll be whistling Hot Rod Lincoln.

I'm so confused...

I sing as though my life depends on it, and if I ever stop doing that then I'll stop living
One can assume he stopped doing it.(but enough levity)
My favourite is when he sang in a church,in one of his films, and his voice towered above the rest as he sang the lords prayer.
