Someone once said that liberals are folks that play with fire, not even knowing that it is hot. They create a burgeoning Leviathon -- i.e., they feed the crocodile -- under the naive assumption it will give them what they want, rather than what "it" wants. "It" -- under collectivism -- always reduces down to what a few, key high-authority folks want (at everyone else's expense). It's what happens, what has to happen, when -- out of the philosophic arrogance of collectivism -- individual rights and objective law aren't respected.
