Rush was philosophically on fire today (more than usual).

He was talking about folks who sacrifice so that others will think they are high-minded and enlightened. One example he gave was when folks buy a hybrid car in order to impress their neighbors (instead of buying the car they want). He was talking about how so many of us chase after a mythical status as part of a group, and how wrong that that is as a plan for humans living on Earth (and how it will destroy our country).

I have a hunch Limbaugh's reading more Rand lately. He's quoting her all the time, and it's awesome.

Yeah, he really has been using a lot of "Rand phrases" ('capitalism is moral' stuff) lately.

You know I've noticed a lot of media conservatives appealing to Rand too. I heard a conservative guest on FoxNews the other day say just before he was cut off for commercial break "Who is John Galt?"
